The Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) is the world’s largest organization devoted to the power generation industry. To gain EGSA Certification, a field engineer must demonstrate knowledge in a number of areas including: Prime Movers, Generators/Alternators, Engine Generator Instrumentation and Controls, Governors, Automatic Transfer Switches and Voltage Regulators, Multiple Generator Switchgear & Controls, Troubleshooting System Problems, and Startup/Commissioning. Certification is granted to those field engineers that have 3 years of practical field experience and pass a 200 question multiple-choice exam.
